We want to provide therapeutic support to as many people as possible. We ensure those who need help can get it through our local and national partnerships. 

Professional counselling & therapy you can choose

Our network of therapists is trained to work with different areas of difficulty, including feeling stressed or anxious, panic attacks, school or workplace bullying, grief & bereavement, family problems, low self-esteem, and self-harm & suicidal thoughts. 

Individual Counselling
Individual counselling provides 1-to-1 support for those struggling with a range of mental health and personal challenges.
Children & Young People Counselling
For those between 5 and 17, they can get therapeutic support from someone specialised in helping minors.
Family Counselling
Family counselling supports with parenting issues, stepfamily dynamics, and other challenges families often face.
Group Counselling
We facilitate a variety of group sessions to aid individuals going through a variety of life challenges.

How it works

Discounted or free professional therapy is available to help individuals, couples and families. The process for getting help is straightforward:

Referral
Either refer yourself or someone else through our Online Referral Form [link].

Identify your needs
We'll then contact you to identify your needs and make sure we connect you with the right therapist.

Get started
Your assigned therapist will then be in touch to set up your first session and begin counselling.

Criteria

Our aim to offset the economic costs of therapy or provide it free of charge will only be given to those who meet our criteria.

    • Student
    • Single parent
    • Receive Universal Credit
    • Have an income of less than £25,000

When we receive your referral, we aim to get you connected with your therapist within 7 working days, but this depends on how responsive you are when we contact you to means test your application.

About us

Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've built a network of counsellors and therapists around England to provide in-person and online therapy to individuals from disadvantaged and low economic backgrounds.

Being You Therapy is a registered charity (1194810) and complies with the Charity Commission regulations. Our trustees come from varying backgrounds and contribute towards the goal of the Organisation. The chairperson is Nordia Philpott (MBACP & MSc in Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapy).

Are you interested in getting involved? We welcome individuals who want to fundraise, become one of our therapists, or support in another area of our Organisation.

Free or discounted help

Being You Therapy is for anyone over 18 who meets our criteria for financial support. You can access our service by completing the Online Referral Form.[link]

When will happen once I'm referred?

If you're referred to Being You Therapy, we'll contact you to identify your needs and make sure we connect you with the right therapist. We will also confirm if we can offer you counselling at a reduced cost or cover all the therapy costs.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions usually last up to one hour and occur once a week, but this is flexible around your needs and availability.
